The skyline in the background is intended to resemble Nashville's...and the strange building on the left is known locally as the "Batman building", due to its pointy bat ear--like towers. (I don't get to draw many armadillos, so this was a fun diversion for that alone.)
Mark, I believe that's the first cartoon armadillo I've ever seen. The reason for that may be that the armadillo is not an especially funny animal. It just can't hold a candle to the duckbill platypus.

ReplyDeleteI have been waiting for an opportunity to do a cartoon featuring a duckbilled platypus...someday. As John Fogerty said, "someday never comes".
